Welcome to the Wize English & Composition Course!
While this course is aligned to meet curricular expectations for Seniors and Juniors across US high schools, you'll find that many of the lessons and overview concepts apply to first year college or university writing courses. The foundations of good reading and writing practice are the foundations, whether you master them in high school or college/university!
This course is structured into six main sections devoted to critical writing and reading skills you need to develop in high school:
- Writing Overview
- Writing Mechanics
- Writing Form & Structure
- Writing Production
- Reading & Analysis
- Media Studies
The English Language Arts Common Core curriculum expectations include: "critical-thinking skills and the ability to closely and attentively read texts in a way that will help them understand and enjoy complex works of literature. Students will learn to use cogent reasoning and evidence collection skills that are essential for success in college, career, and life. The standards also lay out a vision of what it means to be a literate person who is prepared for success in the 21st century."
This course gives you all of that in easy-to-follow lessons!
