5 Tips for Living in Rez
5 Tips for Living in Rez
1. Leave Your Door Open
Letting people steal your stuff will definitely make your room popular. But if you want to meet people, allow people to meet you - leave your door open when you’re home. Introduce yourself to neighbours. Visit other floors.
2. Attend Floor Meetings
This is a must. You’ll learn important info from your RA and if you’re shy, just by attending, you develop a bond and share experiences with your floor-mates. There’s no pressure.
3. Make friends with (or at least meet) your RA
I agree, who wants to be friends with Power Trips? Well if you party and ‘your door is open’. some neighbours will complain. It’s much easier to get out of trouble if you already know the Floor managers. People care more about who they know.
4. Make your Dorm space a Home (plants, posters, instruments)
It’s more comfortable and plants even absorb bad smells. But a little dorm design gives people a chance to ask you questions. “Hey, you play guitar too?” – “Wow, my friend likes the same band.” That’s showing people your personality. You can learn "How to Make Your Dorm Room Feel Like Home" here.
5. Get out of your room
Some people do have a hard time taking a break. Remember, University life is not just about school. If you have perfect grades but you’re out of shape and haven’t met people. How fun can it be? Find your balance and mix it up.
