Best Morning Routines for Students that are Easy to Start
Morning is the most important time in the day. What you do in the morning will set the tone for the rest of your day. If you start your day scrolling through TikTok for an hour on your bed, chances are you will feel drained before even getting up.
That’s why developing a morning routine will make you healthier and more productive.
You may have seen vlogs about morning routines on YouTube (most involve waking up at 4 am and taking cold showers). Of course, these are too difficult and will discourage you from starting a morning routine. To help you get started instead, here are 5 simple tasks to do to help kick start your day!
Make your bed (1 - 2 min):
Start your day by completing the first task — making your bed. Although this may seem like a small achievement, it is a small habit that will keep you disciplined and give you a small sense of accomplishment.
This will help propel you towards completing more tasks and will have a snowball effect on your productivity. Also, by making your bed look tidy and organized, it boosts your overall mood and will let you feel more satisfied.
Exercise (3 - 5 min):
After sleeping through the night, your muscles must be all stiffened up. That’s why it is important to keep your body active after you are awake. It will improve blood circulation and increase your energy level. Whether it’s stretching or simple exercises, whatever you do to keep yourself active will be beneficial.
Don’t know where to begin? Here are some exercise ideas to help you get started:
To-do list (3 - 5 min):
A productive day requires a plan to succeed. Making a to-do list will allow you to have a clear sense of what you need to work on for the day.
Ideally, you want to list 3 - 5 tasks that are important and/or urgent. Try to limit the items on your list. Or else, you will feel overwhelmed. Next, prioritize the tasks. Tackle the most important and difficult tasks first because your energy level is at its highest during the morning.
Drink Water (1 min):
After a long night of sleep, you will be dehydrated from not drinking enough water. Drinking water after waking up will help reduce fatigue. Besides, drinking more water, in general, is healthy regardless of when you drink it. Therefore, it is important to have a cup full of water beside your bed so that you can drink water when you wake up.
Eat Simple (5 - 10 min):
Last but not least, eat! You don’t want to leave an empty stomach in the morning. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating breakfast boosts your energy level in the morning and makes you a healthier person (unless you are eating junk foods).
And sure, you might not be in the mood to prepare yourself some breakfast. Hence, you should eat simple. For example, food such as nuts, berries, granola bars, and yogurts are healthy, easy to prepare, and can be stored for a long period of time. If you are in a rush, you can grab these foods on the go.
Not sure what food to pick?
