About Ali S

Ali is a passionate educator who believes every student can unlock their full potential with the right guidance and support. He earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University, an MSc from the University of Windsor, and a BSc from Tehran Polytechnic University. Currently, he serves as an Adjunct Faculty at McMaster University and teaches at Seneca Polytechnic, Centennial College, and Mohawk College across Mechanical, Aerospace, and Energy Engineering programs.

With deep expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), turbulent and multiphase flows, and renewable energy, Ali brings both academic rigor and real-world experience into the classroom. Over the years, he has taught a wide range of subjects—physics, engineering mathematics, statics, dynamics, strength of materials, CFD, and more—always with a focus on making challenging concepts clear, engaging, and applicable.

Beyond academia, Ali has worked as a mechanical engineer and CFD research and development specialist in industries such as turbomachinery (Siemens, Pratt & Whitney), renewable energy storage (Hydrostor Inc.), slurry ice production (DeepChill Technology Inc.), and UAV design and manufacturing (Quanser). This combination of industry knowledge and teaching experience allows him to help students not only master course material but also understand how it connects to future careers.

Outside of teaching and research, Ali enjoys staying active through soccer, volleyball, and kickboxing. He is also a passionate musician who sings and plays guitar, with a love for pop, country, jazz, and R&B. His energy, expertise, and approachable teaching style make him a dedicated mentor who inspires students to achieve their best.
