Momentum: Swinging ball hits another ball
Related Topics
A ball of mass 0.50 kg is attached to a string of length 26 cm. The ball is raised so that the string is taut and horizontal. Now the ball is released such that it swings and undergoes an elastic head-on collision with a stationary ball of mass 0.20kg that is free to roll horizontally. The mass strikes the ball when the string is vertical (that is, it falls through a full 90 degrees before hitting the ball).
