Consider a species of forest flower that varies in colour from white to pink to bright red. Aphids prefer to eat the coloured flowers over the white ones, and pollinators prefer this colour as well (therefore have better reproductive success). The percentage of different flower colours remains stable from year to year, however if all aphids are removed what would you expect to happen in the distribution of flower colours?
