Consider the structure below. The triangles are equilateral. Label the members with letters A through G. A and B are the top two members, from left to right; C, D, E, F are the vertical members, left to right; G is the bottom member.
a) Without doing any calculations, label each member as being either in tension or compression.
b) Determine F1 and F5 in terms of F.
c) Calculate the force in each member in terms of F.
Use positive for forces in tension, negative for forces in compression.
