Practice: Buying a phone
Robbie is helping his little sister, Kate, choose her first phone. They decided that the new K-phone would be most appropriate for Kate. Here are the different K-phone deals Robbie and Kate have found through research:
- Plan A:
- The new K-phone costs $750 + taxes (13%)
- A monthly phone plan with unlimited text and call + 10GB of data is $50/month (taxes included)
- Plan B:
- A monthly phone plan with unlimited text and call + 10GB of data is $80/month (taxes included)
- If you commit to this plan for 3 years, you get a brand new K-phone at no additional cost. After that, you can switch phone plans if you'd like

a) Create an algebraic expression that represents the cost of a new K-phone and months of phone plan A.
b) Create an algebraic expression that represents the cost of a new K-phone and months of phone plan B.
