The Hindbrain & Midbrain

Watch Out!
Ask your instructor if you need to be able to locate the structures of the brain on a diagram, or if knowing their general location and functions is sufficient for your course.

The hindbrain consists of:
  1. Pons: helps to relay motor information from higher brain to the cerebellum.
  2. Medulla: regulation of cardiovascular and respiratory functions.
  3. Cerebellum: coordination and planning of movement.
