The Best 3 Types of Agendas for College
College is a mess. And if you’re not on top of your lists of assignments and deadlines, it’s easy to drop the ball on one-two, maybe even a dozen things every semester.
One way to keep on top of everything is to have a planner or agenda.
There’s nothing more satisfying than striking an item off your planner. Plus, striking things out is shown to increase your motivation and help you get through your tasks faster. That said, not every agenda is made equal.
Whether you prefer pen and paper or artistic designs, you should pick an agenda that speaks to you. On that note, we’ve crafted this handy list to help find the perfect agenda for you!
Bullet Journal
The bullet journal is a trendy format to keep track of your day-to-day life, and for a very good reason. It combines creativity with goal-setting and completing tasks.
One of the biggest benefits of this type of journal is that it allows you to layout things according to what works for you: you can manage how much space you want to take up, which colors you want to use, and whose birthday you want to remember (or conveniently forget).
Daily/Weekly Planners
The freedom that comes with a bullet journal might work for some people, but for others, it might just look like it would take way too much time and way too many dots. In that case, a daily or weekly planner can take all the stress out of the equation, keeping it simple and clean.
With this kind of agenda, it’s easier to spot the deadlines and plan out your weeks. Plus, sometimes it helps to see our list of tasks in front of us, so we know exactly what to do with our day. One of my all-time favorite companies is Rifle Paper Co.
Something about checking things off creamy pages always makes me feel accomplished and at the top of my game!
Phones
Let’s be honest: most of us would be running around like headless chickens if we didn’t have our cellphones. As time goes on, technology has infiltrated more and more of our lives, and it feels like almost everything we need to do can be done with our trusty cell phones.
It only makes sense to put our schedule on there too, right? There are countless apps out there for planning- some free, others not- and you can download the one that best fits your tastes.
Digital planners take away the cumbersome weight of carrying around something else on top of your textbooks (not to mention the likelihood of forgetting it somewhere), while still giving you access to your daily and weekly planner in seconds.
These three are just the tip of the iceberg. Every day there are new innovative approaches to planning and time management with countless types of agendas and journals waiting for us to give them a try.
There’s no harm in popping in at your local bookstore (or app store) for a visit and seeing what’s available. Then you could finally check off ‘need to organize life’ on your to-do list!
