Follow along as I list the potential benefits of forward-thinking using McGill’s dedicated job posting and internships platform.
Resume Builder:
Regardless of your freshmen status, you should always have a properly written CV on hand. MyFuture offers a sophisticated tool which builds a CV and a cover letter from the information you plug in. Forget formatting a Word document, this is the future.
Access to Thousands of Jobs and Internship Opportunities:
You should really consider yourself lucky that your McGill ID gives you access to dozens of on-campus jobs and even more McGill affiliated jobs.
From a Research Assistant in the History Department, to a Business Manager in New York City or Singapore, the opportunities are endless.
All jobs are filtered and approved by the CaPS Employer Liason Coordinator to make sure they are legit. You can even narrow your search to bring up only part time jobs that fit a full course load.
It may sound counterproductive but spending a few hours a week on something other than your studies is a healthy habit.
OCR (On Campus Recruitment) and Career Fairs:
MyFuture is a great resource that will also notify you when businesses matching your profile are on campus hiring students. From the website, you can learn more about the company, send your CV and schedule an interview. The site will also alert you when a workshop, info session or panel is happening near you.
