1. Boustan
How could I not start with Boustan? After all, it is the #1 student food spot in Montreal. This delicious food at such reasonable prices brings young people back time and time again. If you don’t already know about it, we recommend the “Creation,” an off-menu item, with a side of garlic fries....you’re welcome!
2. Kazu Ramen
This place has been reviewed over 900 times and still manages a 4.6 star rating...at this point, it’s a given that the food is amazing. You’re in for a hustle and bustle environment with quick but pleasant service and absolutely delicious food. Some of our favourites on the menu include the 48 hours pork bowl, shrimp burger, and any of the ramen options (some of the best in the city). If you like Japanese food, this is can’t-miss spot.
3. Pigeon Espresso Bar
If you like tasty coffee and a trendy place, Pigeon Espresso Bar is definitely for you. Widely regarded as some of the best coffee in the city, Pigeon has figured out how to keep their ambience young and relaxed while still producing top-notch quality bean.
The place is small, but for the warmer months they have nice outdoor seating. If you’re in the mood for a caffeinated beverage, you can’t go wrong at Pigeon.
4. Joe’s Panini
Delicious paninis. Tasty side orders. Cheap prices. Open 24/7. What more is there to say? If you haven’t eaten here you’re missing out - whether you’re a spicy chicken kind of person or maybe a vegetarian-burger-panini one, they will have something that will make your taste buds thank you. If you find yourself up late at night, this place might just become a staple in your evening diet.
5. Shi Tang
Shi Tang may very well have the best price-for-quantity Chinese food in downtown Montreal. However, a fair warning: this spot is not for people looking to eat your typical westernized “sweet and sour pork” - the palate and ambience here are uniquely Chinese.
And yet, the best part might be that you can get 3 sides of meat/vegetables + bottomless rice for around $9 (tax included). Don’t miss out!
