Best Study Spots in Concordia

With final exams approaching, you need your concentration level to be at its maximum. While you may have good study techniques, it’s also important to have a good study spot where you won’t be disturbed and can study appropriately. If you attend Concordia University, check out this list of the best study spots.

1- Webster library

Evidently the most obvious place; the freshly renovated library in the heart of downtown is now more spacious than ever. All 5 floors are designed the same way, offering multiple studying and reading rooms.

It is also open 24/7, which means you can have as many all-nighters as you want (although, it’s not recommended), and you can be with your friends and groups as well. Keep in mind that if you do intend to study at the library all night long, you will need your student ID as the library is exclusive to students only.

2- JMSB

Not only is it one of the best business schools in Montreal, but also the newest and most innovative establishment of Concordia.

Evidently, the 2nd and 3rd floor of the building offer study rooms with big tables and couches to study on your own comfort, alone or in groups. If you go early in the morning or late in the evening, you will enjoy the quietness as well as the view (wide windows giving you the vibes of being in a penthouse!).

3- H Building 11th floor

If you study at the downtown campus, you probably noticed how the H building is always full. Although, it does offer some space where you can study in peace, such as the 11th floor, the department of arts and science.

There are no classrooms in that level, mostly offices and labs and an area to study, which makes it the perfect place to go if you want to be away from crowds and noise. Everyone is either there to meet a professor/advisor or to get some work done. If you want to get some studying done in peace other than the library, this is the place to go.

4- Vanier Library

While the downtown campus has nice buildings, Loyola also has nice places to offer as well. If you’re not into the modern style, Loyola campus is worth the visit (you’ll feel like you’re in Hogwarts). Vanier library, which is also open 24/7 provides more of a “homey” vibe.

Very quiet and easier to get to if you live far from downtown and are driving, as there is free parking around. All three floors offer dispersed study areas, where you can find spots easily, so you have nothing to worry about.

5- Grey Nuns

Not many students are aware, but Grey Nuns more than just a residence. It also offers several study rooms (on reserve), and a reading room which previously used to be a chapel. The religious décor provides a serene environment where you can review your notes quietly for exams.

And when you're studying, you should definitely check out the Wizeprep study pass subscription for course-specific resources to help you get your best grades ever, no matter where you study!
